Description
Clean air import system brings clean highly filtered air into stale, germy small rooms or areas. Using a highly rated MERV 14 filter(2) this system is particularly well suited for small rooms where air circulation may be limited such as a child’s room, den, office or kitchen.(1) We use it in a computer room to remove ozone and other gas off chemicals associated with electronic devices.
The reading shown below on our portable air quality monitor was recorded in a 500 sq foot office/computer room.
Clean air from the outside is considered a critical component in reducing the spread of disease and reducing inflammation from air contaminates like sulfur dioxide, ozone, nitric oxide, hydrogen sulfide and other noxious chemical agents found in modern environments where vehicle pollution is common. High air pollution environments have been associated with higher rates of respiratory infections including the current raging pathogen epidemic. It is well documented as well that a wide range of life threatening and life shorting impacts are associated with poor air quality in general. (3)
Clean, filtered air reduces the spread of viral and bacterial agents brought in by visitors and occupants through the dilution of trapped indoor air. The highly rated Merv 14 filter(2) is used to keep hospitals and other critical care facilities free of biological agents like bacteria and viral carriers. The positive air pressure from intake fan systems pushes stale, indoor air out through exterior ventilation systems and creates a positive air pressure environment to help reduce foul, polluted, unfiltered outdoor air from coming in
About the Product:
This twin bladed fan system fits into most small room windows. Included with the product is a specially fitted filter holding bracket for easy changes. The filters are specially manufactured to fit the filter bracket (size 21.75 x 13 x 1 in). To change loosen the retainer screws at one end and slip off the end piece, pull out the filter and replace with a new one.
Recommended that you replace filters every 30-90 days depending on how dirty the filter gets (see photos).
Durability: The fan shown in the photo has been in continuous use for over five years with no loss of power or mechanical failure and comes from a reliable manufacture with many years of delivering durable high quality fans.
What You Get
With each fan system you get the twin bladed fan, the fitted filter bracket and 2 MERV 14 filters(2). It is recommended that you purchase an additional box of 6 filters for up to 1 1/2 years use.
A 24 in piece of 1/2 inch stiff gator board is included so that you can seal off any gap in the placement of the fan in your window. We recommend Scotch white masking tape to seal off any cracks and openings for air and insect exclusion. Handymen or remodelers may have their own installation preferences.
The twin bladed fan has a thermostatic control so that you can use only when temperatures are at a level you wish to filter. We recommend running the fan continually regardless of temperature to insure a continuous flow of filtered air though this may not be practical in all climates. Each fan blade has its own speed controls.
We do not sell the filter bracket assembly separately to assure that the bracket is correctly mated to the fan and avoid the hassle of a incorrect fitting when fitted to another product or model. In the event of fan failure, the bracket can be easily removed and the fan returned for warranty replacement.
1: “If you’re an owner of a home, building or mall, you want to have someone to assess your system and install the largest MERV number filter the system can reliably handle without dropping the volume of air that runs through it,” advised Erin Bromage, an associate professor of biology at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
“What is recommended now by the standard setting body for HVAC is a MERV 13 filter.”
“I’ve been writing consistently since early February about how healthy buildings should be the first line of defense against the COVID 19 virus” said Allen, who directs the Healthy Buildings program at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
